I made gnocchi, damn it!

I have been wanting to make gnocchi ever since Ross and I were lazily watching food programs on public TV, and saw Lucia whateverherlastnameis making these little buggers by hand, then serving them up with pesto. She then proceeded to make gnocchi filled with jam, which looked utterly decadent and delicate and amazing... perhaps some day I will have the bravery to attempt those.

I checked out some Lidia cookbooks from the library, and because I tend to go overboard where the library is concerned, I also checked out the Cook's Illustrated complete book of pasta, which was my guidebook in this process. They try every possible variation, and tell you what works best.

I believe this pic is of the gnocchi post boiling. This is the sage butter; the Cook's Illustrated book had this very simple recipe of gnocchi tossed with melted butter and sage, and topped with parmigiano.
Me, with my pal the gnocchi.
The gnocchi being devoured with relish.
So, it was a completely successful experience, even though I did not have a ricer and had to process the potatoes in the food processor - which supposedly makes for gummy gnocchi, but I didn't know the difference.
